Nogometni Klub Maribor (English: Maribor Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Maribor or simply Maribor, is a professional association football club based in the city of Maribor, Slovenia. Founded on 12 December 1960, Maribor is one of only three football clubs in the country who have never been relegated from Slovenian top flight 1. SNL since its establishment in 1991. They are regarded as a symbol of Slovenian football, particularly in their home region of Styria (Slovene: Štajerska) in the northeastern Slovenia.
Maribor is the most successful club in the country, having won eleven Slovenian PrvaLiga titles, eight Slovenian Cups and three Slovenian Supercups. The club's most successful period was in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when they were led by managers Bojan Prašnikar, Ivo Šušak and Matjaž Kek and overwhelmingly dominated domestic football, winning seven successive league titles and three national cups. Following the 2008–09 season and led by manager Darko Milanič, Maribor became the dominant force in Slovenian football for the second time, having won three out of four championships since then. In addition, Darko Milanič has led the club to three cup titles and two supercups, becoming the first coach who has won all three domestic trophies. Prior to Slovenia's independence in 1991 Maribor played in theYugoslav football system. They are one of only three Slovenian teams who participated in the country's highest division, Yugoslav First League, between the end ofWorld War II in 1945 and the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991. Apart from winning the Yugoslav second division once and the third division five times, the club had no major success during its Yugoslav period; the closest they came to winning a major trophy was in the 1967–68 season, when they reached the semi-finals of theYugoslav Cup. In addition, they are the only Slovenian club and one of only four clubs from the former Yugoslavia who participated in group stage of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
They maintain a fierce rivalry with Olimpija from the capital Ljubljana, with whom they contest the Eternal Derby (Večni derbi). Their other major rivalry is against NŠ Mura from Murska Sobota and matches between the two are dubbed as the Northeastern Derby (Severovzhodni derbi). Maribor also have a loyal and passionate fan base and the club has the highest average all-time attendance in Slovenia.
The club's home ground is the Ljudski vrt stadium, which has a capacity of 12,994. It was originally built in 1952 and later underwent a series of major reconstructions in the 1990s and 2000s. The club's Academy, which is hailed as the best in the country, is responsible for youth development at the club and has enjoyed a fair amount of success in producing promising young players. Maribor's nicknames are The Purples (Vijoličasti) and The Violets (Vijolice), both referring to their primary colour purple. The club's motto is One club, one honour (En klub, ena čast).

Juventus Football Club S.p.A. (BIT: JUVE) (from Latin[5] iuventus: youth, IPA pronunciation for Italian language [juˈvɛntus]), commonly referred to as Juventus and colloquially as Juve (pronounced [ˈjuːve]),[6] are a professional Italian association football club based inTurin, Piedmont. The club is the third oldest of its kind in the country and has spent the majority of its history, with the exception of the2006–07 season, in the top flight First Division (known as Serie A since 1929).
Founded in 1897 as Sport Club Juventus by a group of young Torinese students,[3] among them, who was their first president, Eugenio Canfari, and his brother Enrico, author of the company's historical memory;[7][8][9] they are managed by the industrial Agnelli family since 1923, which constitutes the oldest sporting partnership in Italy, thus making Juventus the first professional club in the country.[10][11] Over time, the club has become a symbol of the nation's culture and italianità ("Italianness"),[12][13][14] due to their tradition of success, some of which have had a significant impact in Italian society, especially in the 1930s and the first post-wardecade;[15] and the ideological politics and socio-economic origin of the club's sympathisers.[16] This is reflected, among others, in the club's contribution to the national team, uninterrupted since the second half of the 1920s and recognised as one of the most influential in international football, having performed a decisive role in the World Cup triumphs of 1934, 1982 and 2006.[17][18] The club's fan base is larger than any other Italian football club and is one of the largest worldwide. Support for Juventus is widespread throughout the country and abroad, mainly in countries with a significant presence of Italian immigrants.[19][20]
Juventus is historically the most successful club in Italian football and one of the most laureated and important globally.[21][22][23]Overall, they have won fifty-five official titles on the national and international stage, more than any other Italian club: a record twenty-nine league titles, a record nine Italian cups, a record six national super cups, and, with eleven titles in confederation and inter-confederation competitions (two Intercontinental Cups, two European Champion Clubs' Cup/UEFA Champions Leagues, one European Cup Winners' Cup, a record three UEFA Cups, one UEFA Intertoto Cup and two UEFA Super Cups) the club currently ranks fourth in Europe and eighth in the world with the most trophies won.[24]
In 1985, under the management of Giovanni Trapattoni, who led the Torinese team to thirteen official trophies in ten years until 1986, including six league titles and five international titles; Juventus became the first club in the history of European football to have won all three major competitions organised by the Union of European Football Associations: the European Champions' Cup, the (now-defunct) Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Cup (the first Italian and Southern European side to win the tournament).[25][26][27] After their triumph in the Intercontinental Cup the same year, the club also became the first in football history—and remains the only one at present—to have won all possible official continental competitions and the world title.[28][29][30] According to the all-time ranking published in 2009 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics, an organization recognised by FIFA, based on clubs' performance in international competitions, Juventus were Italy's best club and second in Europe of the 20th century.[23]
